Hair Cut! Woooo Hoooo!

New Haircut!!!!

Jonah saw it and laughed quite uproariously saying, "Mommy you got your hair cut like a boy!"

LOL. I love him. but I asked him if I was pretty and he said yes, so I guess I'm a pretty boy. ha!

it's about time!!

So most importantly, Lucas is fine. Our trip to the pediatric neurologist to have an EEG showed no damage to his brain from the seizure. I wished I would have brought my camera because the EEG cap thing looked like some of brainwashing hat.

They squirt all this gel and goop into the little holes so the connectors can catch the brain waves or whatever better but its like super hold sticky gel. Took 2 baths to get it all out.

After a quick prayer he calmed down to nurse. Cuz, of course you have to sit still for the test. Hello, he's 10 months old, sitting still is not his thing unless he's "attached" to me.

Yes baby boy still nurses alot, in fact, pretty much all night. I've stopped pumping though during the day. I hated pumping. It was a neccesary evil.

Let's see hmmm other interesting updates since my last update:

• Lucas put my phone in the toilet and well, now i have a blackberry.
• He walks everywhere. He can even squat on the floor then stand up. No more crawling for this little man.
  
• He still sleeps with me.
• I can't believe he's going to be 1 in a little over a month.
• Jonah - well he talks and talks and talks. Oh and he rocks out. And by rocks out i mean bangs the head and does the hand horns with both hands.
• Oh and he does his version of break dancing ever since he saw the b-boy routine from So You Think You Can Dance. Seriously, he's watched it like 40 times. no exageration.

Oh and I thought I would update you on the things i'm reading:

Lucas took his first consecutive steps today!!! Yay baby boy! He's been crawling for about a month now and cruising on the furniture for a couple weeks and just this week took a half step by himself so we knew it would be anytime now. We now live in a gated community...

Videos? really she posted videos? is the sky falling? yes, i finally figured out how to get them from the camcorder to the blog. ha! wasnt nearly as painful as I thought it was going to be. I'm also finally emptying the memory card from the camera...hasnt been dumped sine mid-May!

I'm sorry the video is a little green i didnt know i had it in night vision mode. oops. Here is me figuring out it's in night vision and Jonah preparing for a rousing game of hi-ho cherry-o.


oh and the whirring noise... my pump. ha! I didnt pump at work and I was close to exploding. Lucas had just worked on a bottle at day care when we picked him up so he didnt want much and was getting choked and annoyed by getting sprayed in the face when he wanted a break. So probably too much information but well, now you know why. :) I like to over share.

oh and today I did the mommy finger swipe in his mouth...and came out with an old dead fly. It was beyond gross. I think it was the first time I've gagged a little bit as a mom. I get the gross out shivers just thinking about it.

You are probably just now getting over the shock of seeing a new blog post from me that isnt like a month and a half after the last one. Lucas is napping and daddy and jonah are returning cans to the grocery store so quiet time for mommy, wooo hooo!!! Ok so on to my fragmented stream of consciousness. lucas is awake. ok back to blogging.

oh gotta get more serious for just a little bit. I had my first mommy freak out moment on June 23. Lucas had a febrile seizure due to a fever and stopped breathing. He turned blue for about 2 minutes, I honestly thought he was dead. I've never been so scared in all my life. Of course, I was home by myself and my phone was acting up because I couldnt get the buttons punched right because I was frantic, then to make matters worse, when I called 911 I got no answer and even my neighbor who called from her landline couldnt get through. Finally I got through and we made our first trip to the ER in an ambulance no less, go big or go home. We have an appointment with the neurologist on Wed. to have an EEG done to make sure that there was no damage caused. Suffice it to say, he still sleeps with us. We are blessed and so thankful to the Lord that Lucas is fine.

Well daddy and #1 are home so I'll post more pictures later.

Happy 4th!!! (I think i'm gonna say that every 4th of every month. ha!)

more than a taste...here's an appetizer...

he talks on the phone and i swear he says hello. he crawls, he says mama and dada. he cruises on the furniture. he plays with cars. he is a butterball. :)

jonah turned 3! he "plays" t-ball, he loves his brother, his birthday lasted 2 weeks, he says, "I think it's a good idea" when he thinks something he is going to say or said probably won't be a good idea to mommy. oh and he tries to break dance like a b-boy thanks to so you think you can dance! oh and the kid likes to dress himself now... his outfits always include a pair of fun socks. he never wears plain white socks, nope, gotta have his fun print "slippy socks". Thank you Target dollar section! they keep us stocked in fun socks!

i am frumpy on the outside...

You know those moms that have cute dressed kids and then you look from the kids to the mom and you are like...poor mom. THATS ME!!!!

I wake up in the morning and throw on whatever somewhat fits. It's bad people! lol.

I did, however, finally throw away a shirt after wearing for several weeks with 2 holes in it. Shhh... sometimes I even still wear my stretchy maternity pants. Yes, these are the confessions of a working mom that just doesnt have time to care about her attire. I've bought new clothes for the boys and for Nathan... but making the effort to go clothes shopping with 2 kids...yeah...too much effort. Well, you say, why not just leave the boys home with Nathan? Well, I could do that, but then that would mean wasting a few of my "home from work" time with the kids to go spend money that I could be spending on the boys on myself! Its a vicious cycle.

So I wear holey clothes that don't fit. I get "mom" hair cuts because I dont have time to spend on my hair. I call a swipe of blush and mascara putting on a full face of make up.


My answer to this: Don't look in the mirror! And It WORKS!!!






So Long as one avoids mirrors (full length ones are sent from the devil) then one can imagine that she looks like this! I think motherhood has made me too practical. SO, strategies to combat "frumpy mom syndrome" besides the current "imagining that I look hot every day" strategy... which in my head works great but not so much in the physical..

1. Wake up earlier.... ick

2. Stop buying the kids stuff they dont need and use the money on me.... sounds kinda selfish, but really who wants a frumpy mom.

3. Buy online thus saving myself the trip to the store to try things on.... might work if they have a good return policy.

4. I'm out... Suggestions?







Oh and on a different although someone related topic... Jonah is almost "day potty trained"!!!! Yay!!! Oh and he started T-Ball...and spent most of yesterdays game in the tennis court running around (or going back and forth for donut breaks) because that was more fun than waiting in line to bat or waiting for a ball to be hit to him in the field. ha! oh well, as long as he has fun! :)

And here's some other pics from our weekend. We finally celebrated mothers day with my mom at Tasha's, we played T-Ball, we played at home. We (jonah) got an ear infection from playing outside in the cold for too long. So I dont like my kids to be sick... but he was SOOO cuddly and quiet!!! It was a good weekend! :)



I changed my time in blogger land to Fiji Time! Why Fiji time you ask? Cuz I wish I was in Fiji right now!!!!

So what have we been up to...

Lucas is sleeping in his own bed for half the night so thats improvement. I had alot more to say earlier when I was thinking about what I was going to blog, but now its 11pm and my Mexican coca-cola is wearing off. Mexican coke is way better than the stuff we have here. It's made with sugar instead of HFCS and you can really taste the difference.

Friday night we went to ci-ci's pizza with friends and I think I ate 10 pieces of pizza... I just kept getting up to get more. Course, it doesn't help that they keep bringing out new flavors. Surprisingly the macaroni and cheese pizza isnt half bad.

Saturday we celebrated my sister and brother in laws birthdays with putt putt and dinner at olive garden. I need to post those pics but I didnt get a chance to yet, sorry. We had alot of fun and tasha got pee on her hand, so all in all a great time had by all.

And I am heading to bed, so enjoy what we've been up to picture-style.....

and other stuff, but i ran out of time and had to post something. Today, we had a photoshoot with Jen of Visual Poetry. As per the usual, I waited till the last minute to get out photoshoot outfits, but I think it all came together really cute. Seriously, our appointment was at 2 and I was in the mall shopping for shirts and shoes and socks at 1! lol.

Here are some pics we took when we got home. They arent very good, but at least they will show the jist of the outfits I picked out at the last mintue! I cannot wait to see the real photos!!! Jen is a genius!

As usual when I finally get around to posting, I probably should be sleeping. Oh well, I can sleep when I'm old and retired. But then that's the odd thing...old people can't sleep. They all seem to get up at the crack of dawn. So maybe I'll sleep...hmm...I know...I'll learn to live on not much sleep. That, my fellow mothers is the answer to sleep. Just learn to live with less. When I don't feel like waking up tomorrow at 5:30 I will tell myself that sleep is highly over rated, cuz it is right?!

On the up side, its currently 11:32 and Lucas has been sleeping since 7:30 and he' been in his bed since 9:30. I wonder how long he will sleep for tonight. Oh and good rule of thumb...if your child has an alterately runny and stuffy green boogery nose for a month - it's probably a sinus infection. Save yourself alot of headache and should I or shouldnt I and just go to the dr. and get the pink stuff. Lucas has been taking the pink stuff really well since Sunday and his nose is super clear. Yay! At first it was an epic struggle to get him to take it but after some prayer he now takes his meds like a champ. Not quite as well as his drug loving older brother but pretty well. And speaking of his older brother, I have never met a kid that loved taking medicine more than #1. The kid would take meds all the time if I let him. Thank goodness for flavored liquid vitamins!

Jonah is also getting really good at talking on the phone. It's so sweet to hear him have a conversation. Sunday night he talked to Aunt Jamie and Friday night he talked to Elias' friend Nate (whom he's never met) for like 7 minutes straight!

Oh and big news! I got Jonah's 1 year book in and I love it! except for I messed up and 1 of the pages got printed twice. Urgh. So i'm going to have the correct one printed and just stick it in. And speaking of books....Here is the cover page and page 2 of Lucas' first year book.




I know I posted again and its not even been a month! lol. now i'm going to bed.

NEW POST!

So I'm going to purge whatever comes to mind. For the past while when I do find the time to write something I get bogged down with what will be interesting or whatever when in reality, who cares? I mean, who am I blogging for? For the 4 people who regularly read the blog or for myself as another form of expression? Anyone who knows me knows I like to talk, so lucky me there's blogging so I can write about every mundane thought that pops into my head. Just thought I'd share my living room...



Like currently, I'm watching Jonah "walk" in Lucas's walker while Disney's Imagination Movers plays in the background. Lucas is teething on his pacifier sitting in his Daddy's lap. Jonah's current favorite show is Nick Jr's - "Wonder Pets". the stinking theme song gets stuck in my head for days and I find myself singing it. Which of course gets me in trouble with Jonah who says I can't sing because THE MUSIC IS NOT ON. Apparenly the only time you can sing it is when you are watching the show. So at first I kinda hated the show.... It's amazing how "acquired taste" can also work for kids shows. Jonah is now dancing to the closing song of the Imagination Movers to which he just said, "That's amazing". I think we watch too much tv, but thats for another blog when I start to feel guilty about it. Having boys...



I've come to realize that 2 is more work, but I'm not going to let that change things. I still take them both to the grocery store and target. When we go to Target we usually have to stop first to get a apple juice box and bag of popcorn. At our local grocery store "VG's" we stop at the deli section where Jonah gets a piece of deli meat or cheese and "brown stuff" (oreo or chocolate mousse).

Lucas is a beast and I mean that in the most lovingly way possible. He's bigger than Jonah was at the same age. He'll be 6 months in 2 weeks and he's already OVER 20 lbs. and his feet are size 4, He easily wears a size 12 mos. Seriously, tell me thats not beastly, ok, and super cute.





Oh and breast milk helps clear up crusty eyes and snotty noses. How might I know this? Well you did ask... I milked myself into a cup and then used a medicine dropper to drop drops of milk into his eyes and nose then for his nose I used the snot sucker. Yes, it is quite a visual.

ok and seriously, did we just duplicate the genes with these boys? Same age. I think if Lucas weren't quite so chunky they would look like identical twins. I'm still working on tweaking Lucas' page, but I wanted to put the comparison up there.
