it's raining jonah, hallelujah!

I got these rainboots on clearance at payless. They are a little big but how could I resist?!


I probably shouldn't say this (cuz he's my baby boy), but he reminds me of a fireman stripper because he doesn't have on any pants. hahahahaha!

On a side note, I am getting behind in my blogging! Oh dear! I have a birthday party and trip to the petting zoo to add. From both of those I have a combined total of over 500 pictures to sift through!

2024 Summer Olympics Here We Come!

Ever since I was little I knew I wanted to be the mom that took her kids to classes. T-ball, hockey, dance, ballet, guitar, piano, any and all of it was in the realm of possibility.

Tonight I was THAT mommy. I took Jonah to his first Gymnastics class. It was so much fun, he got a work out and so did I! He was so pooped afterword, he was in bed asleep by 7:15. He wanted to go to bed at 6, but I held him off.

Here is some of Jonah's fun from tonight. He has 2 outfits because I accidentally left my camera there so we had to go back and get it (so we took a few more pics).

The Neverending Birthday!

We celebrated Jonah's 2nd 1st Birthday last Sunday at my parents with friends from church. We got the cake from VG's here in Fenton. It was free! Apparently, our local grocery store gives you the 1st birthday cake free. I think its brilliant because then they get more repeat business. For a cake from a grocery store bakery it was really good! Jonah sure loved it!


We also gave him is 1st car last week. A bit delayed due to bad weather. He was so cute! He saw the car and immediately he went to sit in it. It "goes" by pushing a button on the steering wheel. After about 5 minutes he figured out the button and off he went. I love this car because he can make it go and it has a pole in the back with a "go" button. So we can make it go and steer if needed. I don't think it will take him long to figure out how to steer. He already looks like a pro. I love the picture of him turning, like he already knows the drivers ed. rule hand over hand. Love his little "o" face when he figured out the button on the steering wheel. I love how satisfied his smile is. I love my Joners, my hugsy bugsy boy!

• does he love me? (then secretly - am I his favorite?)
  
• last week when I did this or that was it OK?
• is it weird that I don't worry when he falls down but I do worry that he might get a tick bite and then get the head stuck in his leg causing who knows what disease?

All to which Nathan answers: Yes, now go to sleep.

Memorial day a bit late

So we spent Memorial day at my parents. It was a fun day until toward the end. Josh's old faithful friend (dog) Misty died. She was such a good dog, she lived to the ripe old of 14. To honor Misty Jonah named his new nintendog - Misty Jr. Here are some Happy Jonah Pictures.

This was the sign above his high chair. It sat above the back of his seat like a banner. I secured it with tape and raised the banner with a wooden spoon. Inventive albeit, a bit red neck... hey, it worked! :-)

Wow, so we haven't seen each other in maybe 10 years but it was just like it was yesterday. Lainey is as adorable as she is pictured in her blog. Her and Jonah seemed to hit it off. Here is some proof of the fun.

Fun with a cooler?

Jonah had fun with the cooler for about 15 minutes. 15 straight minutes of playing with 1 thing is quite a feat for Jonah.

Jonah's No Thank-You Face

He does not like spaghetti-o's, even at gramma's house... he say's no thank you (with his face). It's the most hilarious thing. I kept shoving the spoon in his face cuz the no face he made was so stinkin' funny! Poor Jonah!
He's recently started not liking food that he previously liked. Saturday he refused Pizza from TGI Friday's. Last time he had pizza he couldn't get enough. Monday night he was OK with pizza from Rugerro's. I choose to think he is a pizza connoisseur.
Is it bad that I secretly (and sometimes not so secretly) laugh when he gets mad...Seriously, look at that face. How can you NOT laugh when it scrunches up like that?

Drumline?

Last Saturday I ran/walked in a 5K benefiting Vision Builders. His picture is also on the race website. On the left column click on 2008 Race Pictures, then Kids. He's the first one. It's very similar to the bottom picture.















They had a marching band play at the start. At the turn they not only had water, but orange slices and M&M's. Then after the race they gave us all lunch. Very nice race, very organized. I will definitely be at next years. Well, unless I am ginormously pregnant or have too fresh of a baby, either of which would be heavenly!
