My name is Tisha and I am addicted to...

buying clothes for Jonah B. But really how can one be expected to resist when the boy is this cute! He needs new clothes and really I'm buying them for next winter and they are soo cheap its not even like spending money 'cuz I saved SO much. It's more like, well OK, its spending money but it wasn't much for what I got. So I know the Children's Place is not known for high quality clothes, but you cannot beat their clearance sales. By the way Mr. JB is in our double stroller that I could not resist buying at Target on 75% off clearance for $25!

Retail Cost: $270
Actual Amount Spent: $44
Saving: $226 - Priceless, ok well not priceless its saving $226

I also couldn't pass up a casual Easter outfit, a St. Patrick's day bib (slightly annoyed 'cuz they didn't have the onesie I wanted in his size), and 2 finger puppets. On a side note, finger puppets are weird. Did ever you notice that to make them "come alive" you have to jam your finger up their butts? Kind of disconcerting. I also bought him a book. It might be a bit girly, but I've heard really good things about it. Anyway who cares if he reads a "girly" book. I also bought myself a little something, see if you can spot them. I got them for the bargain price of $19.99!

You might be pinching too many pennies if...

Your neighbor finds a brand new pair of boots in the dumpster, gives them to you, and you wear them...even though they are BOTH LEFT!

True story. My mom's neighbor, Wayne, found a pair of Brand new $75 boots in the dumpster at the Courtland Center. So kind neighbor that he is he brought them home for my mom. However, they are both LEFT. Yes, I said LEFT, as in 2 left boots no right boot. Also important to note. They did NOT go right back into the trash. She HAS worn them. Reason? Well, they are brand new $75 boots! Doesn't matter that they are BOTH LEFT!

Hunnies Holla Back!

To all my Fly Girls- Party at my Crib!

My Jonah Friday

Jonah went to work with me last Friday. He was such a good boy! He played, had lunch with his buddy Blake, and played some more! I have a whole set up for when I sometimes bring him to work. I don't bring him very often though as I don't want to abuse the privilege. Everyone at work enjoys his happy face.
When we got home later that night we had more fun. He dressed up as mommy's own little Easter Bunny!

Latte and Cupcake Mondays

Monday is Cupcake and Latte day at work! Cupcakes at Cake Nouveau and $2 lattes at Primo Coffee downstairs. Looking forward to this makes going back to work after the weekend not quite so bad.

Walking to Cake Nouveau and ordering cupcakes at $2.50 each makes me feel very "New Yorkish". Not only is the price very New York, but the whole idea of a cupcake store is totally NYC. This week's special cupcake Peanut Butter Cup was divinely delish!

We, my JSTOR compadres (Nahid, Courteney, and Hillary) and I, regularly hit up Primo Coffee for $1 refills. Monday is extra special because its $2 latte day! Yes, ANY size up to 3 shots for $2! JSTOR does provide the office with free Seattles Best brand coffee, but sometimes its nice to go down and get some from the coffee shop. Somehow coffee from there just tastes better. I should note that Primo (pictured) is on the 1st floor of our office building. I am on the 3rd floor. :)

Found some treasures!

We have 2 cameras, the big digital and the small travel digital. Lately, I've been using the big one alot because the quality is better. I haven't taken the time to empty the smaller camera's CF card. So some of these are older but they are too cute not to share!

Even Uncle Josh likes to wear me! Ok so I made him try it on...

Alternatives...

I love alternative medicine. Recently, I discovered acupuncture and I love it! Jonah even gets in on the acupuncture action with Shoni-shin treatments (acupuncture without piercing the skin). Here are some pictures of him getting his treatment tonight. Jonah and Brittany, our acupuncturist:

I should also mention that Jonah DOES see a traditional pediatrician as well. :) He gets well baby visits AND immunizations.

Hair today, gone tomorrow

So here's my new haircut. I'm thinking maybe a couple highlights for the summer.

Update: I have not decided if its life changing yet, I've been to busy to fully evaluate it's effectiveness. Also when I do my hair its a bit more messy, I don't take the time to flat iron it... too lazy!

When their darn shirt just won't stay tucked, what do you need?! Why, the"Sta-Tuct, of course! It comes in pink and blue.Just in case you think your child is a vampire and might burst into flame when the sun is out, One Step Ahead offers "wearable sunblock" with a matching flap hat, of course. Is your child scared of the dark? Then buy him a "Tyke Light". Never again be without a toilet for your little one with the "On the Go Potty"! Liners include an absorbent pad!

For the "Sleep Jumper" in your family:

Take the guess work out of figuring out if something is a choking hazard with the Choke Tube Tester! If it fits in the tube, its a hazard!
I saved the best for last. This item is a must have for the "Accident Prone" child? Do YOU know someone who is expecting a child or has a small one learning to crawl or walk? Then they need the BUMPER BONNET. Protect your childs head from bumps and bruises. Your child is SPECIAL and deserves to stay that way.

Read actual reviews from REAL parents here. There's even pictures of actual babies! One parent even goes on to say its NOT SAFE ENOUGH! It needs more padding under the chin strap! Fly Helicopter Parents, Fly on!

I ate too much...

Bi Bim Bap, but it tasted SO good and its never the same as a leftover. If you have not tried this delish Korean staple then you are missing out. Here's a sample courtesy of google images:

Also of note, Thursday I am getting a hair cut. A life altering hair cut that will give me the inspiration to shed the winter insulation, spruce up my wardrobe, get on the elliptical, and finish organizing the basement. Yes, GREAT things are expected to happen after this haircut. I sure hope its a good one. Change is in the air and it's a bringin' good things!
